ChouChou Keel-Smith brought Pinetop out to my house to play. A gentleman and great soul. I bought a CD from him every time I saw him at the Broken Spoke, and I was there a lot. He told me, 'I'm gonna call you Mama" Thank god for all his recordings. I can't do without.

Not your typical chorus girl I guess if she's packing a blade. And what chorus? like a church chorus? did they often gig at places where they needed knives? Did he ever write a tune about that?

Seeing Dave Brubeck play in his new balance sneaks speaks volumes about both his talent and the US healthcare system. His ortho probably told him to wear those shoes to save his back in his old age, but his fingers move faster than mine in my 20s🤣. The man was strong! I watched this for Dr John and the Fess but Brubeck was the only one I got to watch live. I prefer blues to jazz but Brubeck was immense and beautiful with his band in Funchal, Portugal all those years ago. Beautiful! Thanks Mr Eastwood!

There was a time It got so I couldn't listen even cuz of being jealous others could be better and it failed me.. I channeled that desire for art into something else you know, but with the piano I could only be so good. ...Like that.
